Palo Alto Junior Museum

Today was Molly's field trip to the Palo Alto Junior Museum.  It's a cute place with lots to explore.  We never really made it outside to see the animals, but Molly still had lots of fun.  Afterwards we headed to the park next door for a snack and some play time.

Such a good daughter.

N has had a slight fever today. He stayed home and fell asleep on the couch. Molly gently woke him up and led him to bed. Here she is pulling back the covers so he can get in. She's so sweet and thoughtful.

Lakehouse weekend, the pictures

I didn't think to ask N to pack his camera so I conned Bree into bringing hers...

I'm glad I did.  She got some great shots!

Thanks again Bree!

Holy garages batman!

We saw this on the way up to the Discovery Bay lake house... I believe it's a house. A house with 7 garages... SEVEN!!! N's theory was someone in the valley made "fuck it" money and moved out here.  Seems plausible.

I'm still shaking my head at the SEVEN garages.... the man cave's got nothing on that.

Bye bye lake house...

Discovery Bay Lake House, day two

The Jodoins, Chouns, and Connally/Shipmans joined us late Friday night.  Molly was in bed by the time they arrived.  Unfortunately the kids got up REALLY early.  Other than that the day was great and everyone had a blast exploring and going out on the paddleboat.

Morning chill session out front by the putting green.

Time to get back in the water.

Blowing bubbles on the back deck... thanks Jenn!
 Up to no good...
Walking to dinner and cutting through a field so the kids could RUN.

Pizza place had a video game area that the kids loved terrorizing...
 Bang! Bang!
Molly and Connor taking aim.
Winding down on the putting green.

Discovery Bay Lake House, day one

One of the silent auction items we won at Molly's winter fundraiser was a weekend getaway to a lake house in Discovery Bay.  We redeemed that this weekend.

The view from the Master Bedroom balcony:
 The back deck:
Once Molly saw the water she was itching to get in.  Here is daddy helping her with the life jacket to make sure it fits properly.
 Getting the paddleboat ready...
 And they're off!
 Molly LOVED it!

 They did a few laps...
Then Molly wanted IN the water!
We let her swim off the dock and she had a blast.
Daddy joined just long enough to cool off...
 Where's my snack?!?
 Happy Hour
Snack time with daddy (after another swim)...

 Staredown
 Cute!
 All tuckered out...

Bedtime

6:55 - "Hey mom, can you read me a story so I can go to bed?"

7:10 - Lights out.

7:30 - Snoring up a storm.

I love it when she knows she's tired and puts herself to bed. So much better than the alternative.

Visiting with Granny

They can do this for hours...

Water fountain in the plaza

It was super hot on Monday when I made plans to have dinner with Granny and Grandpa Marsh in downtown Los Gatos.  The plan was to hit the water fountain in the plaza and then head to dinner.  I was not expecting it to cool off so drastically.  It was in the low 70's when we arrived just before 4 pm. I had Molly's bathing suit and towel, but with the wind picking up I didn't think she would actually use it.

I should have known.

Crazy Eskimo child.
Remember Molly's recent wish for a boyfriend?  Yeah... N's not a huge fan of this captured moment...
Believe it or not she was actually singing...
