Still wrapping my head around the 20 years part, but great to see some old friends…

Last "classroom meeting"

At every classroom meeting this year there was at least one discussion debating whether or not booze could be consumed on campus if no students were present (it cannot).  I offered up our house as the location for the last classroom meeting.

Beer fridge is stocked and ready:

All ready to go…

Molly and I having some downtime before everyone shows up...

A little yard work…

This is what happens when your backyard cleaning "technique" has been to hose everything off into the river rock for the last 9 months or so.  Lots of debris to be cleaned up… the downside to having a huge tree with massive shade… it constantly drops stuff!

Molly helping with some touch ups… yes, those are her swimming goggles!

The Theatre

Molly and I went to the theatre this morning to see her friend Addison in the Jungle Book.  I think Molly's favorite part was bringing her a bouquet for after the performance.

Maleficent

Molly and I went to see Maleficent after school today.  At the end of the movie Molly took my scarf and went down in front for some "Maleficent wing flying practice".  It was too dark to get a picture, but I had her recreate it on our walk back out.  Judging by her facial expressions Maleficent is fierce!

Molly reading to her class

Molly asked the sub if she could read to the class. She told kids to raise their hand if they had a question and called out kids that were talking with an "eyes up here please." At the end? Gave the sub permission to have his chair back.

Apple.

Tree.

Box City

Molly decided she wanted to do a fruits and vegetable stand so kids "could have a healthy option" (her words, not mine).  Her box/stand was on the back side facing the lawn.  I mentioned that she would have a hard time selling in this spot as there wasn't a lot of foot traffic.  She thought about this and then asked me to find her a smaller box.

Taking her wares to the people…

Molly quickly learned to target the adults as they were much more willing to buy something that wasn't junk food.

After 20 minutes or so of selling she was all out and made $34 (Box City dollars).

Box City, day one

The school is doing Box City this week (based on the book Roxaboxen). Today was building day.  The kids are going to have their own shops where they can sell goods and services.  There will also be Box City money that they can earn and spend.
