Dentist appt.
Molly did great. She loved seeing the X-rays of her teeth since she's so obsessed with skeletons and bones. My crazy little Halloween baby.

Jellyfish graduate!
Molly graduated from the jellyfish class today. She's now an Octopus and has to focus on her kicks. The ribbon has been folded up multiple times so it was hard to get a good pic.

From AVAC:
Jellyfish
In our Jellyfish level, we continue building on the skills from the Sea Horse level. We are teaching our students to be able to float on their tummies in a good streamlined body position which will allow them to move through the water efficiently. This level provides the foundation for all additional skills needed to swim with proper technique. We are also working to master a crucial safety skill - the circle swim. This skill enables the child who falls into a pool to turn him/herself around, swim back to the side, and pull him/herself out of the pool. The primary skills the student needs to master to move to the next level include:
• Independent glide on tummy with face in for 8 to 10 feet in good body position
• With assistance, being able to swim on tummy, roll to back and return to tummy
• Unassisted circle swim (described above)
Octopus
Our Octopus level builds on the skills that our students have learned in the Jellyfish level. In this level we are concentrating on developing a strong and efficient kick to enable students to propel themselves through the water. The primary skills the student needs to master to move to the next level include:
• Being able to push off from the step or wall and kick for 10 feet in good body position
• Being able to float on their back unassisted for a count of 10
• Being able to swim unassisted, then roll to their back, and then return to their tummy and continue swimming

Molly, a one girl show...
I was in the middle of vacuuming the house when I came across this performance. I caught what I could. Molly could see herself in the tv screen. My crazy random little girl!

New goggles!
Molly got these a few weeks back, but I was finally able to sneak a pic today before class. She was getting really red eyes from swim class and I decided it was time she could benefit from goggles. I had wanted to wait as I've heard kids can get very dependent on goggles and I wanted her to be able to swim without them. After one class where a lot of time was spent swimming under water trough hoops her eyes were really bad so we picked up some goggles right before her next class.
Molly loves them.
LOVES them.
When it's time to dive down and get toys or rings off the bottom the teacher has to make sure Molly doesn't get ALL the toys. If they are walking over to a different part of the pool Molly will pop her head under every few feet because she can. When the teacher is busy with another kid Molly is swimming in circles under water.
My little fishie!

Tending to Teddy
Molly was giving him the once over and asking him if he had a headache. I had a nasty one pretty much all day yesterday so she was very concerned.
We have a visitor.
Teddy, from Molly's school, will be staying with us for the next week. Molly was beaming when she came out of school today. She had Teddy on her back and was holding on to the binder with quite the grip.

And she's out...
Long day + fresh air + tons of running around = one tired Molly
Molly and N fell asleep on the futon a little after 6 pm and she slept a solid 13 hours. This was after passing out on the couch by 6:30 pm on Friday night and sleeping another solid 13 hours.
Lucky number 13.
Covewater mascot
That little furball instantly took a shine to Molly when we stopped by Covewater to pick up our SUP rental board. He crawled in her lap and gave her a ton of kisses. Of course by the time I thought to take a pic the adorable show was over.

Snack parent
I was snack parent today and we made Dr. Seuss hats, Leap Frogs, and ants on a log (with cream cheese). The kids had a blast!

Backyard movie night
It was a lovely day and a lovely evening. BBQ with friends and now we're watching Finding Nemo projected on the garage.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
Way back on MLK weekend we headed down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with Carina and Temperence. N really wanted to join us, but unfortunately work exploded and he had to stay home. The up side to this was the fact that we could take one car as I had both of our car seats in the Subaru. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

Circle time
We went to the park yesterday and Molly was running circle time with Nathan. I could see her teaching him "Little Bunny Foo Foo" and walked over to get a closer shot. Of course everything came to a screeching halt once Mommy walked over.
Sign of the times...
Molly picks up her Sleeping Beauty phone and starts hitting buttons.
Me: What are you doing?
Molly: I'm texting daddy.
Me: What are you texting daddy?
Molly: I'm texting daddy to see if he'll take me to Red Robins. He can put it in his calendar.
