Desert Dance Festival
Molly and I went to the Desert Dance Festival today to watch the belly dancers. Unfortunately several dancers were no shows, but we still managed to several dance. Since there was some down time between dancers Molly got her groove on.
Purchased at the festival:
Twirl, twirl twirl...
I call this move "Let's get as dirty as possible"...
There are no words.
Getting down with her bad self...

Monkey bars and play date
The kids are obsessed with the monkey bars... and they have the massive blisters to prove it.
Ellie came home with us after school for a play date. She stayed through dinner and then I gave her a ride home. The girls begged for the next play date to be a sleepover. The had a ton of fun and did at least a half a dozen different outfit changes.

Found treasure
I drove Jackson and Molly to school this morning. Jackson spotted what appears to be noise canceling headphones on the lawn and was very insistent on picking them up and taking them to the office.
He was very proud of his find...

Brunch with the Sneeds
The Sneeds came over and we headed down to Bill's Cafe for brunch. Molly had quite the Outfit of the Day going on with her new Halloween spiderweb leggings.
Afterwards we headed back to our place and broke into the Pliny. The girls entertained us with a few song and dance numbers. Temperence did a hilarious one that turned into a rap. We were all trying very hard not to laugh... and failed miserably. Hopefully the Sneeds upload the video because it was priceless.
Molly's turn at guitar... she's winding down, but you get the idea....

Ragnar Relay
N was running in the Ragnar Relay this weekend. When it became apparent he planned to stay to cross the finish line with his team (last relay he was sound asleep by the time his team finished) Molly and I got ready to drive up there to cheer him on. Unfortunately we hit the rain storm N had been running in on the drive up. By the time we got to the Russian River Brewing Company everybody was getting ready to head out. Luckily they had already secured some Pliny to go.
We drove through the hills to Calistoga where the finish line was. The sun had come out at this point and it was a gorgeous day. Molly was able to run across the finish line with the team (see video clip below). However, I think her favorite part was being allowed to draw on the white van with markers.
N passed out pretty much immediately and Molly dozed off about halfway home. There was some race traffic to deal with, but it was a lovely drive through Napa Valley. Driving 230 miles in one day was not exactly how I thought I was going to spend my Saturday, but I think it was worth it.
Waiting for the last runner:
Crossing the finish line as a team:
Team Van:
I get to draw ON the van? OK!!!
Admiring her work...
Some ominous looking clouds in the distance...
Less ominous view...

Not ready to leave school for the week...
Molly was not quite ready to leave school for the week so we hung out for a bit on the lawn. I love that she loves school so much!

Temperence play date/sleepover
First Evening Meeting at SCPNS so we picked Temperence up from school for a play date and then partial sleepover. Chris picked her up after the meeting, but I think next time it makes sense to have her spend the night. Molly's school is pretty close to their place so I can just drop her off in the morning.
Got both girls in bed by 7:10 pm. Molly was out almost immediately and Temperence fell asleep pretty soon thereafter.

Another relay race...
Another Costco run...
N will be running in the Ragnar Relay up in Napa this weekend. I picked up their supplies today. Still need to make the 30 PB&J's...
Sports Authoriy
Went to Sports Authority after school today to pick up some gloves for the monkey bars at school (someone has blisters). Molly thought it was amazing!

Math games
My morning was spent getting all of the Kinder math games into bins. There are 20 games. The teacher requested 3 copies of each game. There are 3 Kinder classes. Every game has at least one page of instructions that has been laminated. Some have game boards and/or cards. Those have all been cut, but most still need to be laminated. My goal for today was to get everything that's already been completed into a hanging file and then make a comprehensive list of remaining items to be completed. I moved everything back to school when I picked up Molly.
So, all this "down" time I must have now that Molly's in school?? Yeeaah, not so much.
Tomorrow is a shift in class then switching gears into Field Trip Coordinator mode and tracking down paperwork to make sure all parents have filled out all the necessary paperwork with the school. It's a charter school so parents are responsible for transportation on field trips... all 10 of them (that I get to plan with the other Kinder coordinators). It's cool, I volunteered for this.
