S is for Salsa

I'm pretty sure Molly could live on chips and salsa.

Little Miss Muay Thai

Getting ready for Muay Thai and it usually leads to this type of exchange with Molly.

Landscaping has begun

Molly is hugging some bamboo that was planted today. A bunch of plants and trees showed up yesterday. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

I will never understand...

... how THIS is an acceptable sleeping position. Poor bug had a seat belt strap line across her cheek when I pulled her out.

post nap quote of the day

Me: Did you have a good nap?
Molly: Yes, I am no longer grumpy.

Horsie rides

Molly's favorite spot at the Hollow.

All better!

I realized I never mentioned Molly's follow up with the Ortho doc on Tuesday. Her arm was not broken and the splint came off. Molly was definitely a happy camper and I must have told her a million times that night to stop climbing/jumping/etc.

Hugs!

Angry Birds, a team effort

Molly and daddy playing some Angry Birds. It's a team effort.

Feeding time

Molly and Uncle Kyle feeding the animals at the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Santa Barbara Zoo

At the zoo with Uncle Kyle. Unfortunately daddy and mommy both forgot their cameras. Yay for iPhones.

Sleep schedule is completely off.

Molly just woke up after falling asleep on daddy around 5:30 pm. She's had some food and now it's a joint effort on Angry Birds. Hopefully she will go back to sleep at a relatively reasonable hour. I know all the adults are ready for bed.

Camped out on the couch

Molly woke up a little bit ago. She wanted the sling and splint off and I told her she could take only the sling off if she was still on the futon.

She's had some Blenders, purple Cliff Bar, and is watching Tangled.

First x-ray

First (probable) bone chip. First (possible) fracture.

Apparently she is her father's daughter.

It was a simple trip on a crack in the sidewalk. We were walking back to Uncle Kyle's from dinner and she was chasing N. Molly simply tripped, fell, and landed wrong on her arm.

We kept an eye on her as she was favoring her left arm, but then she started to use it. She was fine during her bath. Then after getting in her pjs she went to let herself down from the big bed to get on her travel bed and cried out in pain. She was super exhausted at this point so we decided to see if she could sleep and then go get x-rays in the morning. Unfortunately she was tossing and turning and woke up in pain around 1:30 am. So, off to the ER we went.

They took an x-ray and noticed a bone chip by the growth plate. Since she's so young this could be nothing, but she clearly has pain in the area (pointed to her elbow whenever she was asked where it hurt). They put her in a splint and we are to follow up with a Peds Ortho doc. Another set of xrays will be done and either a fracture will be more clear or she will be well on her way to healed. Splint for 7-10 days with possible cast if Ortho doc deems fracture.

Bubble gun

Since she has it sideways does that mean kill shot? Death by bubbles?

That's the stuff!

My little puddle jumping addict.

Wooohooo!

We got just enough rain to leave behind a puddle at the end of our driveway. Molly saw this and immediately put on her froggy boots.

Angry Birds, take two

Molly is actually playing the game herself for once.

More chase time...

It was Robert's turn to chase Molly. Nothing like a bunch of laps while laughing to tire a kid out.

Jumping!

Molly loves Robert's trampoline. I think we might need to purchase one of these.

"Mommy, can you take my picture too?"

I ask her to smile for the camera and this is what I get.

Good morning!

Temperence is digging her pancakes.

Ready. Set. Chase!

Molly and Temperence chasing each other around the house before bed time tonight. Believe it or not, but that's Molly's "horsie" sound you hear.

Sleepover

Temperence is over for a sleepover so her mommy and daddy can have a much deserved date night. Post bath wind down with a little Sesame Street to mellow everyone out.

Santa Monica

N had a "work" conference this week at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Since this was just up the coast from Auntie Lisa I decided that Molly and I would tag along. We drove down on Monday and drove back yesterday afternoon. As soon as we arrived Molly spied the pool and proceeded to ask me 18 billion times if she could go swimming. Since she had done so well on the drive down I obliged. We immediately got into our suits once we were checked in and headed down to the pool where she spent the next hour splashing around. That night we took off to have dinner with Auntie Lisa while N got his geek on.

For the most part Molly and I took off and did our own thing with Auntie Lisa while N "worked". We stopped by and said hello between sessions and Molly immediately made use of some daddy time.

It was a nice and relaxing few days.

Shhh! We're hunting puddles.

Thanks to the lovely hail storm that we had last night there were a few puddles in the area that Molly could jump into. Once they were spotted she immediately put on her froggy boots so she could splash away. If only she had realized puddles were fun at the BEGINNING of the rainy season.

"I'm going to get you!"

Taking a break between the puddle hunting.

Looks like another storm is rolling in.

Any sign of water and she would stop.
