Molly's new BFF

Last week we had Grover and Odin while Bree and Jon were in the hospital with Baby Callum. Molly was in LOVE with Grover. They followed each other all around the house. They would sit next to each other on the couch and cuddle. Molly would laugh hysterically as Grover gave her kisses. Instant BFF's. I couldn't even pull Molly away from Grover long enough to go jumping. As soon as I suggested it Molly got very upset and told me she wanted to stay at the house with Grover and started to wail at the very idea of leaving him. Mmm kay... we won't go... calm down.

Clearly it's time to get another dog.

Hey, I've been telling N for months that we need to get another dog. I've fully warned him that if we go to a shelter we WILL be leaving with a dog. It's completely up to him when to bring another one into the house. I'm ready. Molly clearly is too. The one that's most likely NOT going to be happy about the situation is Michael. He was so pissed off at Grover being in the house he STOPPED EATING. Yup, drama kitty held a hunger fast for the first day or so even though his food dish was safely on the other side of the gate for the office. Michael was so pissed off he went up to the kennel Grover was sleeping in just to hiss at him. Michael is not going to be happy when we bring a new dog home. Oh well, he'll eventually get used to it.

Sadie even warmed up to Grover and tried to play with him a couple times. He was a little overwhelmed by her and would stick to places where he had cover (like our dining room table). Eventually he got to the point where he'd jump up on her with his floppy paws only to retreat for cover when she immediately threw him off.

Grover trying to figure out his plan of attack:

Can you blame him for hesitating?

A Bistro weekend...

This past weekend was absolutely GORGEOUS weather wise. Aunt Tracey made a quick trip into town. She arrived Friday morning and flew out again Saturday afternoon. First stop was lunch at the bistro. I have been craving it a lot lately as beignets are featured in Molly's latest obsession, The Princess and the Frog. It was the perfect day to sit out on the patio and have some yummy food. Molly started to fade as nap time approached so we took off first. We spent a lazy day hanging out while Molly napped. Once she got up Grandpa and Aunt Tracey took her on a walk down to the rose garden while I took Sadie on a walk *around* the rose garden (no dogs allowed). We ordered a pizza for dinner and everyone sat down to watch The Princess and the Frog with Molly after bath time.

Saturday morning we met up at Stacks for breakfast where we also saw the Jodoins. After that we headed back home and Molly had some bubble time out front. Grandpa and Aunt Tracey took Molly down to Starbucks and then it was nap time again. N got home from his week long "work" trip right as Molly was going down. Luckily he was able to visit with Aunt Tracey for a bit before she had to take off for the airport. Granny Marsh wanted to play Set (a card game Aunt Tracey brought on a previous visit) as she's really good at it. Granny and Grandpa took Aunt Tracey to the airport and then we had to wake Molly up for her friend Jessie's second birthday party.

Unfortunately Molly was not in the best mood as we woke her up from a deep sleep in order to get to the party on time. She wanted to sit in N's arms and kept telling him to take her to the car and put her in her car seat. I negotiated with her to get her blanket from the car and she slowly warmed up to the party by carrying that around with her. The party was at The Little Gym which Molly normally loves. She was just starting to get into the swing of things when they inflated the jumper (trampoline like pathway). This is by far Molly's favorite thing to do and she promptly ditched her blanket so she could jump Jump JUMP! I took this opportunity to hide her blanket and she didn't seem to notice. N had his camera and got some great shots. Hopefully those will be posted soon.

Sunday was a lazy day. N woke up with Molly (YAY!) and even though they were hanging out in the kitchen it was nice to just lay in bed for a bit. I was also pleasantly surprised to find N had given the entire kitchen a nice deep clean. YAY! The house on the corner was throwing a birthday party and had rented a bounce house so we headed down. Molly had a blast and did not want to leave when it was nap time. Although she was just laying down and giggling like a fool as the other kids jumped around her so I knew it was time. Grandma Lucille and Papa J were south of us for a lunch so they stopped by on their way back home. We headed to the park as it was just beautiful out. Both N and Molly had a blast.

After the park we went back to the bistro for dinner. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful weekend.

A very merry half birthday!

Molly is two and a half years old today.

My how time flies...

I think the last "age" post I did was her second birthday. Well, a LOT has changed since then. She's a total monkey. The girl will climb on anything and everything. The world is her jungle gym. Molly is currently enrolled in classes at The Little Gym and she loves it! She actually has the same teacher (Mr. Dennis) that she had the first time she went there (when she was turning one).

Another favorite spot of hers is BouncyLand. This was a life saver this past winter. On a rainy day we'd head down for an hour or so and she would jump her little heart out and then nap well! Molly is also a huge fan of the trampoline at Tahoe Tot Spot and I can't wait to take her to the local trampoline place. Most days when we get in the car the first word out of Molly's mouth is, "JUMPING!" I actually have to be careful where I drive because she now recognizes freeway exits and knows when we're getting close to a jumping place.

Molly is a pretty great helper and does not mind running errands with me. I try to plan them for after gym class or park play dates so she's more mellow, but even when we do several in a row she's fine. I usually pay by credit card and now Molly has her own "credit cards". One is an old hotel key card of N's and the other is a Jamba Juice gift card (no balance) she snuck out with one visit. A few weeks back she led N to the front door and told him she wanted to go in the car and go shopping (her word for all errands) and then held up her credit card for daddy to see. Yeah, it starts early.

Molly also LOOOOOOVES music. Her current obsession is The Princess and the Frog and she'll often sing "Down on the Bayou" to me. It's super cute. Bob Marley is another favorite and she loves the Glee soundtrack. She also has most Mother Goose rhymes memorized and knows Frosty the Snowman by heart. The girl loves to dance and sing. I really need to sign her up for a music class.

The best thing Molly has mastered is the art of entertaining herself. She really can make a game out of anything. A few weeks back N and I were driving to a friend's place for dinner and Molly was in the back seat with a toy in one hand. She was playing keep away from herself! It was hilarious! It also helps on long drives (Tahoe) so that's a huge plus.

All in all I say we got pretty darn lucky. Molly is a great kid and we couldn't be prouder parents!

Standby dinner

When all else fails... kidney beans and peas. Oh, and some cheese too for good measure.

Rough life

I went to the kitchen to feed all the furry kids and came back to this. Such a rough life she leads. I snapped a few pics then made her get down. Gotta have documentation.

First hockey game

Penthouse suit. Not too shabby!

Molly's right here

I was showing Molly videos of herself on my new iPad (thanks honey!) as she loves to see them. I usually show her the recent ones, but today I went back to when she was brand spankin' new and 6 months old. At first she thought they were videos of Baby Connor. When I told her that was actually her as a baby she said, "No mommy, Molly's right here" and pointed to herself. Super cute!

Swiiiiiing!

Taking advantage of the break between spring showers for some swing time. Molly is giving me the "hurry up and take the picture lady" look.

Happy Easter!

Molly had three Easter Egg hunts yesterday. Yup, THREE. The first one was in the morning at Grandma Lucille's as she had spent the night. The second one was when she arrived at our house just before her nap. The third one was when she arrived at Granny and Grandpa Marsh's house for Easter dinner.

She's not spoiled. Not at all.

Happy Birthday Nathan!

Today is N's b.day

Today was also the release for the new iPad.

Coincidence?

If you ask N it was clearly fate which is why he HAD to get one. Yup, fate is to blame. N was too weak to resist Fate.

Mmm hmmm....

Anyway, the day started out with a yummy breakfast at Stacks. Or so I hear. Since Molly shouldn't be around kids we stayed home and I did the last few items on my clean house to do list while she watched The Princess and the Frog and ate breakfast. She is doing MUCH better, but still not quite 100%. She's delicate. By delicate I mean little things that normally wouldn't upset her set her into meltdown mode. Like N leaving for breakfast. She completely broke down and kept repeating, "No daddy... no car..." Poor bug, not feeling 100% AND she misses N's b.day celebration(S).

After breakfast Grandma Lucille and Papa J took Molly back to their house for the day/night. Molly was pretty interested in having her car seat in a new car and seemed pretty chill as they drove off. I then met up with the group at Sky High Sports for some major trampoline action.

It was AWESOME!

We will definitely need to go back when Molly is feeling better as she LOVES to jump and this place is nothing but trampolines. She would be in heaven.

Unfortunately the trampoline place claimed two victims. One sprained (possibly broken) ankle and one pulled quad. Still totally worth it. (I can say that since I wasn't injured *knock on wood*).

The boys headed off to the mall to check out (and purchase) their reserved iPads while the moms headed home for nap time. I grabbed some last minute items at Zanotto's and let Sadie out real quick before heading to the mall for a super quick slice of pizza. Then we all piled into cars and drove up to Union City for some indoor skydiving at I Fly SF Bay. We had 4 kids with us as 3 years old and up can fly. They all LOVED it and asked when they could go back. It was a great experience and we have a dvd. We will have to get clips uploaded to You Tube. That would be N's department so it might be a while.

Then we headed back to our place for some food, home brew, and chill time. Well, as much chill time as you can get with a bunch of kids running around the house.

All in all it was a great day.

Happy Birthday Nathan!

I love you.

Molly's first.....

... staph infection. Yep, the results are in and that's what Molly has. The doc wasn't all that surprised with the results given her age and didn't seem too concerned since the type of staph (Staphylococcus aureus) she has is quite common. Unfortunately Molly had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics she was on. There were two different types and we're not sure which one she's allergic too, but Wednesday night she had red dots on her belly and by Thursday morning they were all over her torso (front and back) and up behind her ears. I stopped the antibiotics immediately and we're treating the infection with two different antibiotic cremes.

Molly is pretty much back to normal today. Fever is completely gone (broke Tuesday afternoon, but remained low grade until Thursday morning) so we're no longer doing the Motrin/Tylenol rotation every 3 hours. The red dots from the allergic reaction have faded tremendously and the rash from the staph infection is on the mend.

Unfortunately Molly should not be around other children until at least Monday so she won't be joining us tomorrow for N's b.day festivities. On the agenda is Sky High Sports (warehouse FULL of trampolines, Molly's favorite thing) and indoor sky diving. The sky diving is scheduled for nap time, but N specifically scheduled the trampoline place because of Molly's love of jumping. We'll have to go back another time when she can join us.

Awww... Bless!

Someone is tuckered out. Molly is not quite 100%, but feeling better. We have a follow up doc appt this afternoon so I'm going to let her sleep now as it's in the middle of nap time.

Also, that's a Kid's Cliff Bar chocolate brownie mustache.
