All slide, all the time!

Molly has been on a slide mission this week with the occasional break for some swing time. She just can't seem to get enough.

Tahoe pics

I uploaded some pics of our recent trip to Tahoe. N took more on his camera, but this should tide you over for now. They dropped ground cover after the fires to help with erosion and it included seeds for a variety of wildflowers. I have never seen Tahoe so green nor so colorful. It was truly gorgeous. N brought me back a lovely bouquet of wildflowers after a crazy hike up to the ridge behind our cabin with Sadie. They were stunning. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics with my camera, but you can see the same wildflowers from our hike up to the pond.

Just some of the crazy color of the wildflowers:

ahhh... summer...

Molly and I were out running errands this morning when I decided to let her play in the fountain. At first all was well as she knelt down next to it and reached in to grab rocks. This didn't last long. Clearly she needed better access. So she climbed on in. First one leg:

Then the other leg:

But no... that wasn't nearly comfortable enough so she decided to sit:

Yes, her diaper clad booty was *completely* submerged at this point. This is also the point I gave up and just let her have her fun. And fun did she have:

I also took a cute pic of Robert and Molly at the park last week. LOVE it!

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince came out this weekend. In my eyes this is definitely a sitter worthy movie so I arranged for Molly to spend the night at Grandma Lucille's. I dropped her off just after nap time on Saturday. Then Nathan and I met up with the Chouns, the Connally/Shipmans, and the Jodoins. I thought the movie was great! Sure, there was no way they were going to fit in everything from the 672-paged book, but for me the movies are separate from the books. That way I'm never disappointed. Plus, the one thing the movies ALWAYS get right is the casting. This was no exception. Slughorn, Greyback, and Lavendar Brown were spot on. I'm also loving Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix. It makes me want to read the series all over again.

Sunday, N and I both slept in because we could. We picked up Molly with enough time to grab a quick lunch at BJ's with Lucille and Jim. Molly was starting to get a little tired towards the end of the meal so N took her out to the car for some buh-bee time. I love it when Molly spends the night at Grandma's... either one. Her nap yesterday was four and a half hours long. Then she went to bed early on top of it. Gotta love it!

Does Sadie miss Snickers?

Several people have asked us that over the last few weeks. Our answers were always along the lines of she knows something is different, but she hasn't acted out so we're not sure how much of an impact his absence has made on her. She looked confused the first few meals when we only put down one bowl of dog food. I've also found her going into our bathroom (Snicker's hang out) and it's looked like she was searching for him.

Then last night we got back to the cabin after a visit up to Truckee with Auntie Nicole. The answer to the question is a resounding YES!!!

Sadie wrecked havoc on the cabin. Blueberries were scattered all over the floor. Bread was strewn about the futon. She even managed to pull some items down from on top of the entertainment center. However, the piece de resistance was the side door. Sadie ATE the mini blinds. AND there were bite marks on the bottom of the door frame.

Apparently being home alone in the cabin was too much for her. It was her first time here without Snickers. She hasn't acted out like this at home. That's probably because that's *home*. Oh yeah, and Michael and Charlie are there too. She did eat the Tickle Me Elmo box at Lucille's a few weekends back when we went to the water park. I had chalked that up to her being pissed because we pretty much arrived, dropped her off, and then left again for several hours. The box (Molly likes to put Elmo away) was *shredded*. It was also right at the front door so I interpreted it as a big F U when we walked in.

Now I'm thinking she might have just been lonely.

N believes she had an anxiety attack. Sadie has always acted more human than dog so that's entirely possible. I just hope she didn't ingest any of the blinds. They were too shredded to really tell if any piece was missing.

*sigh*

This is the pond 1.4 miles up the trail from our place... Sadie and I were just soaking up the scenery.

Leo and the 4th

Molly and I spent the day yesterday with little Leo Hayes. His school was shut down this week for holiday and we were helping out. Leo is a doll. He was very enthralled with everything Molly did... and most of what Molly did was take every single toy I put in front of Leo away from him. But Leo didn't care. He was mesmerized. The only time I got any sort of unhappy noise out of him was when he had finished his bottle, but was still hungry. He calmed down as soon as he saw I was heating up another one, but boy was he not happy when he hit empty! Gee, that reminds me of someone else.....

Anyway, here are some pics from the day.

Can't talk... eating.

The second the boppi was free Molly climbed right on in.

The 4th of July dress that Aunt Kim made Molly last year still fits.

pic upload

N added some more pics to his April, May, June - 2009 gallery. They are pics from our bbq at the Jodoins on 6/27 along with some time with Molly in the hot tub (it was turned down) with Aunt Tracey. I just love how completely comfortable Molly is around big dogs. Sadie, Scout, and even Hunter were chasing and playing and Molly is just chill in the background playing with Robert's truck. Love it!

I also uploaded some more random ones from around the house from the end of May and June. They can be found in my K - April, May, June 2009 gallery.

Nathan's video antics.

The new iPhone 3GS records video and uploads straight to YouTube, and I've uploaded a few recently. I figured people might check in on my youtube channel as its linked off the right hand side of this blog, and also off the family photo gallery... but Kim got on my case for not posting the video's here... :) So here are my antics from the last 5 days:

Marsh Family Album

I *finally* got around to scanning in some of the baby pics from one of my mom's old photo albums that I borrowed back when Molly was first born. Heh. Yeah, these things take a while to get around to. In my defense the scanner is in N's bat cave and I am so used to NOT going in there that I kept forgetting about it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I also scanned in all my school pictures. Here's the one from Kindergarten:

Baby's first cocktail

Making Mojitos with Granny Marsh. Careful honey, you don't want to bruise the mint too much.

I can do it myself.

Molly has been all about doing things herself these days. She's mastered her shoes. She can put them on and take them off without any assistance... and she gets them on the right feet about 80% of the time now. Molly is also successful when it comes to putting on or taking off her pants. She even got a pair of pants on OVER a pair of shorts the other day. Apparently she felt one layer was not enough. She still has some trouble with tops, but her noggin is so darn big that *I* have trouble getting some tops on her. Once they are on or off she has no problem getting her arms in or out. She's also really helpful if I'm getting her dressed or helping her with a tricky item like her swim diaper. She knows to hold on to me and lift one leg at a time.

Another great thing is that she has mastered putting things away. If she comes wandering out with an item that's not a toy (like a coffee mug) I will simply ask her to put it away and off she goes. It's great! Not so great when I ask her to put a stick back while we're out walking and she turns to put it back EXACTLY where she found it... across the park!
