Wishes and princess dresses

Making wishes at the fountain...
Molly wanted to make sure I got a picture with her princess dress covering her feet.  Very important!

Princess down!  I repeat, Princess down!

Genetics

From N:

Molly asked why an entire family, walking in front of us, had black hair, while our entire family has blonde or brown hair... I started to explain DNA and genetics... It clicked when when she gasped aloud "but daddy!! I like my hair!!!!!!" While staring at my bald head.

Happy Birthday Grandma and Papa J!

Since we will be in Minnesota for Grandma and Papa J's upcoming birthdays I thought it would be best to celebrate early.  Grandma had some Molly time while N and I saw World War Z with Papa J.  Then we all headed out to Maggiano's for dinner.

Having some drinks while waiting on our table.
Molly has been all about doing cheers lately.  Since her plastic to go cup with ice water did not make the proper clink she is using an appetizer plate instead.
 Posing with her daddy.
 Love!

Monsters University

Nathan and I took Molly to the movies this morning to see Monsters University.  I think Molly rather enjoyed the mommy/daddy/daughter date as she held both of our hands for most of the movie.

On our way out Molly and Nathan hopped in a photo booth to take their picture (they have done this at most movie outings).
We then drove down to take a look at the newly announced campus for Molly's new school (Discovery 2).  They are still doing a lot of construction so we walked around the sidewalk out back.
 Hi Chai!
Super moon... I let the dogs out and the back yard was quite bright.

Garden update

Ariel doll for size comparison.... first squash of the season...

Swim time at Granny's

Had the entire place to ourselves...

Pig tail braids

Technically more of a twist as it was only two strands woven together, but the point is Molly did this herself.

Quote of the day

From N:

Oh
My
Word

The door wouldn't close because a cord was in the way… my daughter says, "Oh well."

I said, "I'm an engineer, I must fix this. Pull the cord so it goes under the door and the door will close."

She sighs and says, "Just pretend you're a girl and DON'T CARE."

I'm doomed.

She's 5.

Water balloons!

Molly attended a birthday party at her school today and they had water balloons.  Instant hit!
 Up to no good...
 Deciding on her next target.
