I somehow managed to get myself voluntold into the Fundraising position for our school. We needed money and we needed it fast. So it was decided we would go forward with a Laps for Learning event. I managed to secure 6 sponsors that helped cover the cost of the t-shirts. I held a student contest for the t-shirt design and had the staff vote for a winner. When all was said and done 86% of the students participated (pledges) and we raised enough money to cover this year's field trips (about $24k).
It was exhausting.
However, the kids had a blast and are looking forward to doing this again next year. Top pic is the Kinder classes doing their laps while being rooted on by their 2nd grade reading buddies. Bottom pic are the Kinders returning the favor while 1st and 2nd grade did their laps.
