too early for a bike?

Molly and I hit the park this morning and one of the bigger kids had a tricycle that caught her eye. She wouldn't leave the thing alone and the grandfather came over and said she could try it if she liked. Well, she crawled on (I was holding it still) and inspected everything. She didn't quite grasp the concept of the pedals, but she did manage to scoot herself around a bit using her feet to push off the ground. Molly was more than a little upset when I pulled her off as the actual owner wanted to ride his bike. Once she realized he was on it she stopped crying and just stared in amazement as he pedaled around the park. I'm thinking we might have to get her one sooner rather than later.
