Kauai, day one

Nathan and I flew out to Kauai today to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary this Saturday.  We dropped Miss Molly off at Grandma Lucille's last night.  She will stay there through Saturday when she will be dropped off at Granny and Grandpa Marsh's.  Next Monday Granny and Grandpa will take her home and put her to bed in her OWN bed.  Our return flight gets in after her bed time, but mommy and daddy will be there when she wakes up Tuesday morning (which is also her first day of school).  We're squeezing in as much as we can.

Nathan's monstrosity of an underwater camera case confuses TSA:

Molly has been obsessed with these Little Mermaid and her sisters dolls.  She has named the blond one Eliana (from So You Think You Can Dance).  She took the other two with her to Grandma Lucille's house so I decided to take Eliana with us to Kauai so Molly could see her adventures via Facebook.

Eliana enjoys First Class.

A whole lot of blue......

Eliana approves the car choice... Very Hawaii Five-O.

Driving up to North Shore.

East side of the island.

Getting closer to north shore.

First stop was Tropical Taco for lunch.

First rooster spotting.

The view from our Ocean (free upgrade) room at the St. Regis Princeville.  It pays to tell everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) you are celebrating your 10th anniversary.

Hanalei Bay

Eliana made herself right at home.

The underwater case assembled.  Yeah.  That's it.  All of it.  Bathtub test proved no leaks so off to the beach in front of the hotel to test it out.

We had dinner that night on site at the Kauai Grill.  It was insanely delicious.  We were so full we passed on ordering dessert and asked for the check.  At this point the manager came over as they had planned to give us a special dessert since it was our anniversary (once again, telling everyone).  We compromised with some fresh sorbet made out of a local fruit called the lilikoi (passion fruit) and it was yummy.
